Yes, that's right folks. We finally were able to make a trip to Silverwood! My mom called me Monday and asked what we were doing the next day and if I'd be able to take a day off of work to go to Silverwood. I said of course (what was I going to say? no? I can work
anything out if it means I get to go to Silverwood!). My aunt Traci was in town with her two kids, so they were all going to come up and go.
It was so much fun. I didn't bring my camera (actually, I didn't bring my purse at all, just my phone and some chapstick) so I don't have any pictures. I worked up the courage to try Aftershock (the new rollercoaster there) with my dad and my brothers. Jeremy was too wimpy to go on. As I was getting strapped in, I thought to myself "oh gosh, what have I gotten myself into?!?" And that only intensified as it started going backwards and I was looking straight at the ground. (We were in the last seat too, so we were the highest up) But, after that first initial drop, I actually really enjoyed it. I was a little disoriented and had a touch of trouble walking upright, but it faded after like 30 seconds or so. I would definitely recommend it though, it seriously isn't as scary as it looks.
Afterwards, we met up with the rest of the family, but they were a little too far ahead in line for us to be able to join them, so we just decided to go ourselves. Bad choice. It was the thundering waters one or whatever, and as we were loading into our raft, someone called my name and I looked up and groaned. As we took off, someone (Jeremy, I think) pushed the button to get us absolutely soaked. Oh well, at least I was wearing my swimming suit. And I managed to keep my phone dry, so that's good too.
Oh, and let me just say that they have the BEST ice cream there! And compared to all the other food, it was pretty darn cheap. For example, my brother Zack got this thing of Dippin Dots; it was probably around a cup's worth, and it was like $5. Jeremy and I shared this ENORMOUS two scoop cone (it was a big waffle cone with ice cream inside and also probably 5-6 inches over the top) and it was $4.65. Great deal, eh? (I mean, comparatively. Obviously you could buy more than a quart of ice cream at the store for that price, but yeah)
We also decided to watch the magic show while we were there. It was pretty good. Jeremy actually got asked to help out with the show, so that was kinda fun. Some of the tricks were way cool, and then some of them Jeremy and I were like "oh, well he just did such-and-such" I think we've been watching too much of that "Magic's Greatest Secrets Revealed" or whatever it's called. But it was fun.
Anywho, that's the exciting stuff that's been going on in our lives!
